ABOUT WILDLAND

In 2018, Jon Peterson and Jim Elliston were sent by their wives on a Father's Day climbing trip on California's central coast. After a day of climbing and dragging ropes through a massive amount of Poison Oak, Jon and Jim knew they were doomed.

In the weeks that followed (along with a terrible rash for both Jon and Jim), discussions began about creating modern solutions to Poison Oak & Ivy prevention and relief. At that point, the most established brand was one that was developed in the 1960's to remove nuclear fallout from the skin.  It was then repurposed as a Poison Ivy wash using the same active ingredients as paint thinner, and became the largest brand in the Poison Oak and Ivy segment.

As avid mountain bikers, trail runners, backpackers and residents of San Luis Obispo, California, Jon and Jim have almost daily interactions with Poison Oak. The quest began to create solutions for people like themselves... People who live life outdoors with their friends and families, care about health and sustainability, and deeply care about the planet.

After a year of formulation development and a quite a few more bouts of Poison Oak in the testing process, Wildland was born. They worked with various formulation chemists to create a powerful, plant-based suite of Poison Oak & Ivy products that help you on the trail, at home, and after you have the rash - just in case you missed a spot on prevention. They developed products they happily use on their own skin (or their kids) - created specifically for the removal of the oils that come from Poison Oak, Ivy and Sumac.

As constant creators, Jon and Jim have more products to come in the Poison Oak & Ivy world, as well as other skin care products for people like them - who love to live life outside.

We hope Wildland products help you enjoy the outdoors to the fullest.
